Guide
What does a wedding in Barcelona cost?
The honest answer is that it depends on your guest count more than anything else. But “it depends” is useless when you are trying to decide whether this is possible at all, so here are the numbers we actually see.
Read this first
These are market ranges for Barcelona and Catalonia for a 2027 wedding, based on what venues and vendors in this region quote. They are not our quotes and they are not binding — a real number depends on your date, your guest count and what you want. Prices here exclude VAT unless stated, as is normal in Spanish quotes.
What each piece costs
- Venue hire
- €3,000 – €12,000 · a masia or estate for the day, often more in July and September
- Catering
- €90 – €180 per guest · cocktail hour, dinner, drinks and service
- Photography
- €2,500 – €5,000 · full day, two shooters at the upper end
- Video
- €2,000 – €4,500
- Flowers & décor
- €2,000 – €6,000 · from a bouquet and table runners to installations
- Furniture & rentals
- €1,500 – €5,000 · tables, chairs, glassware, linen, lighting
- Music
- DJ €900 – €1,800 · live band €2,000 – €4,000
- Hair & makeup
- €400 – €900 · for the couple, more with a trial and a wedding party
- Symbolic officiant
- €400 – €900
- Guest transport
- €500 – €1,500 · coaches, which the Costa Brava and the Empordà usually need
- Planning
- €1,200 day-of · €1,800 partial · €3,500 full
Three realistic totals
- 30 guests, intimate. €25,000 – €40,000. A villa or a small estate, a long table, one photographer, a DJ.
- 60–80 guests, the usual destination wedding. €45,000 – €75,000. A masia with rooms, full catering, flowers, music and coaches.
- 100+ guests, three days. €80,000 upwards. Welcome dinner, wedding, next-day brunch, production and transport.
An elopement for two with a photographer, an officiant and a beautiful dinner lands between €4,000 and €9,000.
Where the money actually goes
Catering and venue together are usually 55–65% of the total. That is why the single biggest lever on your budget is the guest list, not the flowers: twenty fewer guests saves more than any negotiation we could run on your behalf.
The second lever is the date. A Friday or a Sunday in May or early October costs noticeably less than a Saturday in June or September, for exactly the same wedding.
What couples underestimate
- VAT. Spanish quotes are usually shown without it. Add 21% to most lines and 10% to catering.
- Power and logistics. A field is beautiful and has no sockets. Generators, lighting and toilets are real costs at countryside venues.
- The other two days. Welcome dinner and next-day brunch often add 20–30% to a destination wedding, because your guests have flown in for the weekend.
- Vendor travel. Teams coming from Barcelona to the Empordà charge for the distance.
